BIO: My name is Crystal Woods, In 2012 I changed my life when I decided to quit smoking and no longer lead a sedate lifestyle. Let me give you a little background. At the age of 6 my parents divorced, kidnapped by my father he moved me from Arizona to Texas. I spent the first half of my primary years answering to a false name and moving from place to place. All forms of abuse and trying to stay alive became a norm in my life. As one would expect this can affect how you feel about yourself and it did, however, I never allowed it to show. Surprisingly I have always been an outgoing, social, talkative, and seemingly the most confident girl in the room no matter what the situation.
Now fast forward to 2011, mother of two teenagers, working full time, and a homebody. It was at this point I decided to quit smoking and then join a gym in an effort to stay busy and smoke free. I began lifting, learning, and then at the encouragement of a friend, I agreed to compete. It was then I realized after taking before and after photos just how much weight I had gained.
Now we come to the present 4 years and 20 shows later, I am involved in the fitness industry in a multifaceted capacity. I did not just find physical health and my figure restored, I found a healthy confidence, a new state of mind (health), a sense of worth, and purpose. I have found a community of people excited to live healthy and together we as a community share our knowledge with others in an effort to educate people about fitness.
I believe we all have a purpose, a path in life, and I have been lucky enough to realize mine as a public speaker and health advocate. I speak publicly to groups and individuals on how to obtain success and happiness after child abuse. Helping others to achieve their goals through fitness is a multifaceted, life-changing experience that can give a person back control of themselves.
