BIO: I started training seriously around age 30. Unfortunately, a few years later I became seriously ill and was out of the gym for about 5 years. Once I was finally able to train again, competing was the farthest thing from my mind. I was just glad to be back in the gym. Eventually fellow gym members started asking if I competed. The thought of getting on stage terrified me! After several years of encouragement, I finally got up the nerve to step on stage. I was 46. I was hooked. I love the process and have met some absolutely amazing people.
I hope my journey inspires others. Its never too late. If competing is in the back of your mind...DO IT! Although I have many years to go, my goal is to match the fabulous Ernestine Shepherd and still be competing well into my 70s.
I truly love competing. If nothing else, I will always have fun whenever I'm on stage.
