BIO: Exercise and nutrition have always been a part of my life, but after three kids, working full time as a pediatric nurse a failing marriage and poor self esteem, my interests in my life took the back burner and I put everyone else first.
On my 39th birthday, I decided to make a goal. I was going to give myself a year to get in the best shape of my life. I had always wanted to do a figure competition and never faced the fear. About half way through this journey, I decided to do it. I had run into an old friend, JC, now my trainer, and asked him if he would train me for a show. I said, "I don't want to step on that stage unless I win." (That's the competitor in me) He replied, "I won't put you get up there unless you do." It was a perfect fit. I can now say I have acheived that goal, but with that came so much more. I was a broken puzzle with the pieces scattered everywhere. I have been putting the puzzle back together piece by piece, but this time with glue.
I can honestly say, this sport and the many beautiful souls and truly amazing people I have met has helped me do this. I can now say, "I am 40+. I am fit. And, I am fabulous!! And I love this awesome sport we call figure."
